Donna Messer, Class XX, Named 2027 Woman of Initiative

Donna M. Messer, GNL Masters Class XX, has been named one of five 2027 Women of Initiative honorees by the Women’s Foundation of Collier County.

The Women of Initiative honor recognizes women whose leadership, service, and philanthropy have strengthened Collier County — creating lasting opportunities for women and girls and inspiring others through their commitment to community. Messer is honored alongside Jenny Haire, Donna Issenmann, Treecie Schoonmaker, and Julie Vanderboom.

The recognition reflects a sustained record of civic leadership. Messer served as GNL’s Board President and has chaired the Board of the Naples Airport Authority. She has also served the Women’s Foundation of Collier County as board chair and governance chair, and mentors young women through the Junior Women of Initiative program at the Boys & Girls Club of Collier County.

The 2027 honorees will be celebrated at the Women’s Foundation Luncheon, Rooted in Purpose — Honoring Women Who Lead with Strength & Heart, on Friday, January 22, 2027, at The Ritz-Carlton Naples, Tiburón. The luncheon raises funds for the Foundation’s Women Lifting Women Initiative, which invests in programs empowering women and girls throughout Collier County. Event leadership includes co-chairs The Honorable Kathleen Passidomo and Valerie Boyd, with honorary chair Julia Van Domelen.
