GNL collaborates with community organizations to sponsor impactful public forums that inform our members and the broader community about non-political issues relevant to Collier County. Offered free of charge, these forums encourage engagement by connecting participants with people and organizations dedicated to understanding and addressing important community topics. The programs are consistently well attended, feature expert speakers, and have received significant local media coverage.

Understanding Alzheimer’s: What Patients and Families Need to Know
Save the Date — February 24, 2027
On February 24, 2027, GNL will serve the Collier County community by presenting a community forum on the topic of Alzheimer’s Disease. This disease currently affects more than 17,000 county residents over 65 years of age, which makes this forum both timely and relevant to our population. The forum will present a broad range of current information about this disease, directed at providing answers to three questions:
- How do I know if I or a loved one has Alzheimer’s?
- If there’s an Alzheimer’s diagnosis, what happens next?
- What support is there for the patient and family?
The Forum panel will feature exceptionally talented leaders in the field.
Joining the panel will be Dr William Justiz (a Naples neurologist, specializing in Alzheimer’s diagnosis and treatment), Dr Ronald Garry (a Naples specialist in geriatric medicine), Paul Hiltz (CEO of NCH), Clarke Pollard (CEO of the Alzheimer’s Support Network of Collier County), Katy Kurili (COO of Moorings Park Institute), and Teepa Snow (an international expert on caring for dementia patients).
Neal Gelfand will once again serve as lead producer for the Forum supported by his GNL team of Amy Kopelan, Janet Nacu, Mark Schwab and Joe Trachtenberg.
Our forum will be held at NUCC and is currently scheduled from 3:30-5:30 pm.

That’s why Greater Naples Leadership (GNL) partnered with the Collier Community Foundation and Naples United Church of Christ to present a free public forum exploring the far-reaching effects of hurricanes on our quality of life and local economy, as well as the unique challenges confronting our coastal community.

Wish you could once again talk to friends and relatives about social issues without fear of an argument? Greater Naples Leadership (GNL) addressed this growing concern in a free community forum focused on rising polarization—exploring its causes, its effects, and practical ways to restore community well-being. This event was presented in partnership with the League of Women Voters of Collier County, Naples Airport Authority, and Naples United Church of Christ.
Workforce housing crisis community forum
In response to the persistent shortage of workforce housing in and around Naples, Greater Naples Leadership (GNL) hosted a community forum to address this critical issue. Partnering with local organizations and community leaders, the forum encouraged citizens to urge both local officials and private stakeholders to take meaningful action toward resolving this crisis.
